In the high capacity air dryers purge air loss is too high and high pressure dry air is used for purge which contributes to addition of power required to compress the air. As the regeneration takes place at lower pressures the cost of compressing the purge air can be eliminated. In this dryer, the regeneration air is supplied from a blower which is heated in a heating chamber and thus increasing its moisture carrying capacity. This hot air is passed through the desiccant bed for regeneration.
